Although the debt/deficit/default issue, which has purposely been obfuscated by lies from those who don’t really want to solve it, is getting as boring as the Casey Anthony trial, there are other important issues that will actually change the face of America in the next few years that are not in the public eye at this time. One of the biggest of those issues is the “Chinafication of America.”
A Professor, retired from the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Michigan, who is also a member of the (Michigan) Willow Run Tea Party wrote to tell me that Chicoms (Chinese communists) have infiltrated the University of Michigan where gobs of federal funds have gone to support two supposedly Michigan projects. One is the manufacturer of lithium batteries and the other is the Secretary of Energy’s Green Energy Initiative. BUT, as it turns out the battery manufacturer is not an American company, it is BYD of China, a lithium battery maker which also builds electric cars and the batteries to power them.
Here is a very recent news item:
Plan would turn GM’s Willow Run plant into energy park
Associated Press ( Last Updated: July 22. 2011 9:12AM )
Ypsilanti Township — The site of General Motors’ former Willow Run plant that closed last year could become an energy park featuring advanced battery manufacturing, a trash-to-energy facility and a solar panel assembly operation if a developer’s idea moves ahead.
AnnArbor.com reported today that A.E. Equities Group Holdings first offered $9 million for the site in Washtenaw County’s Ypsilanti Township but recently boosted its offer to nearly $20 million.
(Diane’s comment: BYD of China is a client of AE Equities. Note this AP article doesn’t mention China. AE Equities is a property construction and development company. They buy property, rehab it and sell as a turnkey facility for a buyer. In this case, it has been confirmed that the buyer is BYD.)
Elmer Roller, a lawyer for the developers, says more than $250 million would be spent on renovations. He says the project could initially employ about 1,000 people.
The Willow Run property is controlled by the Revitalizing Auto Communities Environmental Response Trust. The trust’s redevelopment manager Bruce Rasher says several other potential purchasers have expressed interest in the site. A decision could come next year.

The DRIC Bridge is a planned new toll bridge that is being called the “JOBS BRIDGE” to sway public opinion in its favor by saying it will increase employment by 1,000 jobs. Opposition to the DRIC is that as a toll road it will lose money and isn’t needed because the Ambassador Bridge that joins Michigan and Canada already exists.
The point to be gleaned here is that both Michigan Governor Mitch Snyder and the Canadian government are pushing for the DRIC because it will enhance international trade, BUT neither is saying anything about the Chinese connection. (See: Canada’s Asia Pacific Corridor Initiative and think the DRIC Bridge and tunnel for which the Canadian Government has offered to loan Michigan the money to pay for it )
To some Willow Run Tea party members it’s pretty clear that BYD wants to buy the Willow Run plant to manufacture lithium batteries they can sell to China Motors/General Motors and once in the door will suddenly hit on the bright idea of building electric cars there too.
And, let’s not overlook the advantage BYD will have in being able to buy parts from the Chinese owned plant in Saginaw that was Saginaw Steering Gear but is now Nexteer- a wholly owned communist government of China manufacturer.
My main question about all this is, “why is this Chinese connection being kept so hush-hush”? If the Chinafication of Michigan was to be a wonderful boon for America wouldn’t somebody be publicly taking credit for it? -in this case, MI state Gov. Mitch Snyder, of whom it is said wants to run for US President.
Globalism is not necessarily a bad thing unless it subverts America’s sovereignty. We’ve gotten used to foreign cars being built in American factories and we gladly buy products here that are made in Communist China. Obviously, it is the lack of transparency surrounding the Chinafication of Michigan that has Willow Run residents on edge about the future of their community. And rightly so. From what we know about how free trade zones operate under Project 60 which creates Chinese cities in America that will owned and operated by Communist China, it’s no wonder we have strong doubt that the Chinafication of America will be in our best interest.
I’ve been told the Willow Run Tea Party is launching a statewide Tea Party and 9/12 groups to challenge Governor Snyder asking him to break the silence surrounding the DRIC Bridge and the Chinafication issue. One member of the group has met face to face with the Governor who said, “Yes,” when asked if China – The country not a corporation of China – could bid, build and operate the new DRIC bridge, much as China accomplished at the Panama Canal.
“To get a public conversation going about the exchange of debt dollars China wants to liquidate by investing in everything American, “the Willow Run Tea Party held a caucus and composed a proclamation for the Governor to sign with all MI state legislators are receiving it by email. The proclamation states that the Willow Run Tea Party Caucus believes the DRIC Bridge is not in the best interest of the State of Michigan; and that it is a “gateway to the NAFTA Superhighway” and concludes by saying “We did “NOT” send you to Lansing to “Bow before Beijing.”
We all need answers about the Chinafication of America before the 2012 primaries so we can sort out the candidates who are globalists from the ones who are Constitutionalists before we get locked in to only having candidates who love Chinese investment more than they love the Bill of Rights.
We wish the Willow Run Tea Party success in finding out from Gov. Snyder, “Why, if all this Chinese investment is so good for Michigan and America, is he hiding the Chinese angle? We’d also like to know if the Chinese investors will pay corporate taxes in the USA? Will the Chinese employees pay US income tax? Whose laws will govern the Chinese enterprises? Will the Chinese invasion affect America’s sovereignty? Will wages in the Chinese owned enterprises be like they are in China or like American companies pay? What about child labor laws, etc? How will American owned companies be able to compete with Chinese owned companies in the USA if Chinese companies have special tax breaks?.
We appreciate that those of you living in Michigan who are working to bring the ChiCom issue out of the shadows. Please email me at SITW831@gmail.com to keep us informed of your progress.
Love,
Diane
P S. According the Associated Press, GE announced (7/25/11) it is moving it’s X-ray global headquarters from the USA to Beijing. GE plans to invest $2 billion in China, including $500 million in six research centers in China. The company says it has already hired close to 100 engineers for the plant in Chengdu, China. GE’s plan is to develop products for customers in China, “but they see potential for exporting to other emerging markets.”
